Judo is more than a sport, it is a way of life, with Coach Ken Fukushima

It's a Summer Olympic year and we took a closer look at judo from the lens of the coach, with Canadian coach, Ken Fukushima.

  • Nii Wallace-Bruce caught up with Ken Fukushima to discuss his journey in Judo.
  • Ken shares the story of how he met Egyptian judo legend and Olympic medallist, Mohamed Ali Rashwan in Japan. Rashwan's trip to the podium at the 1984 Olympics is a story in itself.
  • This meeting would end up being a moment of synergy down the line for Canadian judo, as it relates to the El-Nahas brothers (Mohab and Shady).
